Welcome to Sprained English, a site dedicated to considering the unconsidered in books, movies, TV, music, pop culture, and similar miscellanea.
Think of this place as a cozy used bookstore tucked down a nondescript alley. Having walked in the door, wandered around the shelves, dodged teetering stacks of Russian literature, disturbed the plump Persian sunning itself in the front window, and banged one's shin on the short shelf of unread Larousse Gastronomique cookbooks, one might find an intriguing volume casually sitting on a forgotten end table. Sprained English hopes to highlight a few of these volumes...and movies, albums, TV shows, etc. for your edification.
That's the hope, at any rate: spotlighting heretofore enshadowed works. Alternately, we'll just make lots of the sorts of bad puns that two overeducated liberal arts majors are prone to.
But we hope to entertain, or at least divert for a while. So do visit us.
